As a Consultant, Veterinary Relations, you'll act as a pet health ambassador, proactively partnering with veterinary practice and industry professionals to evolve and deepen Nationwide Pet's relationships in the sector. We'll count on you to help identify and support the execution of business-specific goals, and partner across Nationwide to deliver value to veterinary audiences. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners with leadership, developing opportunities to identify and form relationships with key practices, associations, and individuals within your designated focus area. Provide appropriate support - materials, sponsorships, and education.

  • Handles incoming questions/requests from veterinary professionals about Nationwide products or other industry-focused initiatives

  • Conducts surveys, collects feedback, captures industry intelligence and other activities to determine level of interest in Nationwide products and services. Understands trends within the industry and finds opportunities.

  • Works with Director to contribute as a subject matter authority on veterinary industry and veterinary professionals, act as a knowledge leader and collaborator within Pet, particularly with our Growth Expansion and Development team and across Nationwide.

  • Uses customer relationship management system to actively report all contact management and activities in an accurate and timely manner. Resolves issues and questions involving any elevated partner issues.

  • Implements business and marketing plans to optimize all veterinary-focused programs. Partners with Marketing to provide expertise and input to develop optimal marketing plans.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.


Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Director, Veterinary Relations.


Typical Skills and Experiences:


Education: Bachelor's degree in animal health-related science; Certified, licensed, or registered veterinary professional strongly preferred, e.g. technician, nurse, practice management.


Experience: Three years of veterinary practice experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in relationship-building and relationship-management preferred.


Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Deep knowledge, experience, and relationships in animal health preferred (account management/educational experience a plus).


Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.


Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Job Conditions:


Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt)


Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
