Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Leads the Vet Relations Outreach and Support team in relationship building and management to support strategic goals.
Directs the Vet Relations Strategic Engagement team in sponsorship, education and industry relations activities aligned with the Nationwide Pet strategy.
Partners with Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) to develop and implement Professional Relations initiatives that align with Pet's strategic objectives.
Shares responsibilities for building and maintaining industry relations with CVO and the Strategic Engagement Team, as well as identifying and developing relationships with key practices, practice groups and leaders within clinical vet medicine.
Acts as a knowledge leader, source of industry intelligence and collaborator within Pet (particularly growth, expansion, and development) and across Nationwide. Builds and maintain relevant resources.
Manages associates, including associate development, setting goals and performance management, salary planning and administration, departmental budget, training and development, workflow, and organizational planning, hiring and placement and disciplinary actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to CVO; manages four to six Veterinary Relations professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or closely related field.
Experience: Eight to 10 years proven experience in business planning, relationship management and cross-functional team management.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Deep knowledge, experience, and relationships in animal health preferred Proven experience in account management / educational experience. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Ability to identify extant and emerging industry trends (and relate them to strategic goals). Strategic planning abilities desired.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
